🔇 Fixing No Sound from CarPlay in Your MINI – Quick Troubleshooting Guide
If you’ve installed our MMI Retrofit Box and you’re not getting any sound, don’t panic — this is usually an easy fix.
🔧 Most Common Causes
- AUX not selected in iDrive: Go to Media > AUX in the factory MINI system. If AUX isn’t selected, your MMI audio won’t play.
- Your phone is connected to MINI Bluetooth: Disconnect it. If your phone is still paired with the original MINI iDrive Bluetooth, sound may route through that instead of the MMI system.
- Low phone or car volume: Make sure both are turned up — especially for wireless CarPlay or Android Auto.
✅ Recommended Fix
Once AUX is selected, we recommend assigning it to one of your preset buttons:
- With AUX selected, hold one of the 1–8 preset buttons for 2 seconds.
- This creates a shortcut to the correct audio input for future use.

📌 Final Tip
Only one device should be connected at a time. If multiple devices try to pair, it can cause audio or connection issues. Stick to one and let it auto-connect going forward.
