Our MINI F-Series Wireless Apple CarPlay / Android Auto Box is a simple to install retrofit that enables you to use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto within your MINI. The system is designed to provide your MINI access to your smartphone’s features and improve your safety. The box is designed to install behind the existing head unit and allows you to retain access to your existing iDrive system.
This is an add-on box which is designed to provide your car with access to Apple CarPlay even if it wasn't specced or enabled at the factory for NBT and EVO systems.

No, only the box and all connections necessary for the installation are included. This item is an add-on for your existing system. If your MINI does not have a display, this item isn't compatible.

INSTALLATION

Our MMI box works by transmitting audio via AUX.
If you have an NBT system, please ensure that you have enabled the AUX option in the original iDrive multimedia system.
If you have an EVO system, please ensure that you have enabled the USB option in the original iDrive multimedia system and you've correctly connected the USB/AUX converter.
Please also check that your volume is turned up accordingly.
Please refer to your handy digital fitting guide and ensure that the correct switch codes have been enabled.
Standard procedure:
For 6.5" display, you'll need to enable switch codes 1 and 2.
The code pattern will be: [ 1 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 ]
For 8.8" display, you'll need to enable switch codes 1, 2 and 3.
The code pattern will be: [ 1 1 1 0 0 0 0 0 ]
